The Feed & Seed Store represents the earliest known chapter in the history of this building. Constructed in 1934 by Will Poole, the building first opened as a feed and seed store in 1935, serving Jasper’s growing agricultural community. Farmers and families visited here to purchase livestock feed, seed, and other supplies that supported the farms and rural way of life that shaped Pickens County.
The vintage 1935 Feed & Seed bag featured in the mural was included as a tribute to that first chapter of the building’s history. While the original business is long gone, this symbol reminds visitors of Jasper’s agricultural roots and the important role local businesses played in supporting the community during the early twentieth century.
